Over 6 Million Travelers Passed through Mehran Border in the First Seven Months of Iranian Year
The RMTO Director-General of Ilam Province announced that in the first seven months of the Iranian year, over 6,063,689 passengers traveled through the Mehran Border.
 
        
        SeyedZahedin Cheshmehkhavar stated, "Among these travelers, 2,605,512 Iranian citizens entered the country, while 2,379,333 Iranians departwd through this border."
He further explained that in the same period, "575,421 foreign citizens entered the country, and 503,423 foreign nationals departed through this international border."
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Mehran Border, the Director-General stressed, "This border, recognized as one of the busiest borders natuonwide, plays a pivotal role in facilitating the movement of pilgrims, particularly during the Arbaeen pilgrimage."
Cheshmehkhavar also noted that annually, over eight million individuals travel through this international border. Specifically, during the Arbaeen season, over three million travelers choose the Mehran border as their preferred route for crossing.
