At the 35th session of the National Council for the Regulation of Authorized Land Border Crossings, comprehensive master plans for the Bashmaq, Sarakhs and Sero borders were formally approved after review and presentation of implementation strategies.

According to the lRoad Maintenance and Transportation Organization, the meeting resolved that the strategic implementation framework for emerging borders—led by the Deputy Minister for Transport at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development— to be incorporated into future prioritization and planning agendas.

Implementation of these plans will be overseen by the Department of Technical and Consteuction Engineering Affairs within the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.

The report indicates that the core principle underlying the master plans for Bashmaq, Sarakhs and Sero is the maximum separation of commercial and passenger procedures, the independent streamlining of processing operations, and the completion of necessary formalities with minimal dwell time and optimal operational efficiency.

Under this approach, the development of terminal infrastructure is designed to meet both current and future demands for cross-border trade and movement, while enhancing productivity, reducing stoppage times, and facilitating the flow of goods and passengers.

Notably, the initiative forms part of a broader border terminal development framework aimed at improving the efficiency of the country’s entry and exit points and strengthening the infrastructure essential for international transit and trade.
