Virtual Turn-Taking System for Commercial Fleets Launched at Bazargan Border
The Director General for the Department of Transit and International Transport at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has announced the implementation of a virtual turn-taking system for commercial fleets at the Bazargan border, effective from early August.

According to Javad Hedayati, this initiative aims to enhance the convenience of both Iranian and overseas drivers, stating that the mechanized turn-taking system at the Bazargan, one of the busiest borders nationwide and a critical hub for international economic exchanges and regional trade, now enables remote turn registration.
Mr. Hedayati highlighted that while the turn-taking system was initially introduced at the Bazargan border in 2021 with only in-person registration, recent technical and administrative advancements have made virtual turn-taking possible.
In addition, he announced the activation of this feature at the Astara and Bilehsavar borders, noting that the virtual system not only regulates and manages traffic entering the borders, but also empowers drivers and international transport companies with data-driven travel management tools, such as estimated travel times to the border.
Mr. Hedayati further explained that the virtual turn-taking system addresses longstanding challenges, including cargo theft, damage to seals, and the placement of smuggled goods during prolonged waits at border crossings. By mitigating these risks, the system significantly improves safety and security for drivers and the cargo.
Commercial fleet drivers may now schedule their border movements and manage their logistics through the official portal at www.borderpark.ir.
