Tehran hosted a high-level meeting of senior transport authorities from Member States of the Economic Cooperation Organization, where pivotal topics aimed at fostering regional connectivity and cooperation were discussed.

The agenda of this significant gathering focused on the development of rail and road crossings, the digitalization of transport processes as well as the facilitation of border procedures to enhance efficiency in regional and international trade.
Javad Hedayati, the Director General for the Department of Transit and International Transport, stressed the importance of advancing joint border gateways and leveraging international conventions such as the TIR system. He highlighted the utilization of facilitative mechanisms as a key objective of the meeting, aimed at streamlining transport operations and fostering closer collaboration among ECO member states.
