High-Level Session Convened to Enable Seamless Transfer of Arbaeen Pilgrims via Domestic and International Bus Fleets at Borders

A strategic coordination session has been convened to ensure the uninterrupted and efficient transfer of Arbaeen pilgrims using authorized Iranian and international bus fleets from borders into Iraq, alongside the implementation of intelligent visa control mechanisms during the Arbaeen observance.

During the conclave, senior officials engaged in comprehensive deliberations with target provincial authorities and key stakeholders in the international passenger transport sector to execute the mandates of the Arbaeen Headquarters’ Transport and Fuel Committee. The primary objective was to optimize the movement of these fleets at border terminals. Discussions further encompassed the assessment of proposed fare structures submitted by the Federation of Passenger Transport Guild Associations for the seamless conveyance of pilgrims via licensed Iranian carriers. It was subsequently resolved to designate the Khosravi border terminal as the exclusive corridor for the ingress and egress of these buses, facilitated by the establishment of a dedicated transit lane.

The session was attended by the Deputy for Transport and Acting Director of the Transit and International Transport Department of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, the Director General of Road Maintenance and Transport of Tehran Province, a representative of the Passport Administration, the President of the Federation of Passenger Transport Employers’ Guild Associations, and delegates from passenger transport companies operating on the Iraq route. Several provincial Directors General of Road Maintenance and Transport participated remotely via videoconference.
