Islamic Republic of Iran Sees Robust Growth in Road Transit Corridors; Approximately 14 Million Tons of Goods Projected for 1404
The Islamic Republic of Iran's strategic road network has demonstrated significant vitality as a major transit corridor, with officials reporting the passage of approximately 14 million tons of goods in the current Iranian calendar year.
Mr. Javad Hedayati, Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, provided detailed statistics, stating, "From the beginning of the current year until the end of January month, a total of 13,852,905 tons of goods were transited via road through our country's land borders."
Mr. Hedayati further elaborated that this substantial volume of road freight transit was facilitated by *624,550 trips* made by the international transport fleet across Iranian territory.
"In the same period," he added, "*11,122,498 tons* of goods were exported from the country via over *464,000 trips* by the cargo transport fleet.
