High-Level Trilateral Meeting on Regional Connectivity and Transit Facilitation Convenes in Mashhad

A high-level trilateral meeting on regional connectivity and transit facilitation was held in Mashhad, bringing together senior officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The session was attended by H.E. Mr. Reza Akbari, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transport Organization of Iran, H.E. Ms. Shoyista Saeidmoradzoda, Deputy Minister of Transport of Tajikistan and Mr. Yarmohammad Ramazan, Head of the Department of Laws and Treaties at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan.

The meeting aimed to enhance regional cooperation, streamline the transport and transit of goods, remove existing barriers along trade routes and boost economic ties among the three nations. Discussions stressed the imperative of expanding bilateral and multilateral engagement, fostering synergy and leveraging shared capacities in the field of international transport and logistics.

The session was also attended by the Director General of the Department of Transit and International Transport, the Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation of Khorasan Razavi Province, the Director of Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, the Senior Adviser to the Provincial Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Head of the State Institution for Road Transport and Logistics Services Center at the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, the Director of Iran Affairs and Head of the Second Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Transport Companies Association of Razavi (Central) Khorasan Province.
