The Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization announced that 9,491,000 tons of goods were transited through Iran's road network from the beginning of the current Iranian year to the end of Mehr 1404 (October 2025), carried out via 429,367 international transport trips.

Highlighting the private sector’s infrastructure potential in transport, the Director General added that currently 2,712 companies operate in the field of international freight transport, along with 67 companies and branches active in international passenger transport.
He further reported that 51,000 public transport vehicles, with an average service life of 12 years, are engaged in international routes, supported by 63,000 professional and skilled drivers working in the international transportation sector.
At present, 26 borders across 12 provinces are operational, playing a vital role in facilitating the exchange of goods and passenger transport between Iran and neighboring territories.
