Siavash Arjmandzadeh, Director General of the Bushehr Ports and Maritime, announced the approval and official notification of the Comprehensive Development Plan for Daylam Port. He stated that the implementation of this plan in three five-year phases will enhance port infrastructure, boost export and import capacity, develop the commercial fleet, and create new employment opportunities in northern Bushehr Province.

PMO News Portal -  Arjmandzadeh highlighted Daylam Port's strategic position and convenient access to the transport network, noting its significant potential to play an effective role in economic development and maritime trade in northern Bushehr.

"The presence of active companies in various industries, particularly the mining sector, provides a valuable opportunity for export development through Daylam Port. The implementation of this comprehensive plan will enable maximum utilization of these capacities," he explained.

Arjmandzadeh detailed the planning process, noting that studies for the Daylam Port Comprehensive Plan began in 2021. After updates in 2022 and value engineering studies conducted by a specialized consultant in 2024, the plan underwent expert review and was approved by the PMO Board of Directors in 2025 before being officially notified.

"These projects will significantly increase Daylam Port's operational capacity," Arjmandzadeh stated.

With the development of port infrastructure, Daylam Port will be able to accommodate larger vessels and expand the activity of metal-hulled ships. "This will not only improve maritime safety but also increase cargo handling capacity, facilitate trade exchanges, and boost regional maritime commerce," he noted.

Currently, 237 commercial motorized vessels operate from Daylam Port. The new plan will enable an increase in vessel capacity, allowing commercial vessels of up to 1,000 tons to operate from the port.

Arjmandzadeh also announced that a permit has been obtained for the construction of a 750-square-meter administrative and operational building at Daylam Port.

The Director General emphasized that the development of Daylam Port is being pursued in line with the general policies of the maritime economy and the strategic objectives of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"In addition to strengthening the supply chain, increasing export and import capacity, and creating sustainable employment, the implementation of the Daylam Port Comprehensive Plan can become one of the main drivers of economic prosperity in Daylam County and northern Bushehr Province," Arjmandzadeh concluded.
