PMO Supreme Council Outlines Strategic Priorities for Port Development
The Supreme Council meeting of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) was held and attended by Saeid Rasouli, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and PMO Managing Director alongside high level officials.
PMO News Portal - The Supreme Council of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) convened a high-level meeting attended by Saeid Rasouli, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and PMO Managing Director, alongside Bahareh Bozorgmehr, Representative of the Minister and Head of the Ministry’s Center for Assembly Affairs. Representatives from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Iranian Navy, Plan and Budget Organization, and senior PMO officials also participated.
During the session, Rasouli highlighted significant progress in port infrastructure development and equipment modernization, noting that these initiatives are advancing rapidly despite ongoing sanctions and economic constraints. He emphasized that non-governmental investment attraction continues to grow and that all infrastructure and construction projects are being executed according to schedule.
The council identified several strategic objectives for the coming year, including expanding the nominal capacity of commercial ports, boosting container handling capacity, enhancing port safety and security, and improving national coastal management and oversight.
