Government Highlights Maritime Development as Key to Iran’s Future Growth

PMO News Portal  – A high-level joint meeting between the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and the governors of coastal provinces was convened to discuss the acceleration of maritime-oriented development plans. The session was attended by Saeed Rasouli, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), along with Ali Abdolalizadeh, the President’s Representative for Coordination of Maritime Development Policies.

During the meeting, Minister Salehi-Omran emphasized the pivotal role of maritime development in shaping the nation’s economic future. “The future of Iran’s development passes through the sea,” he stated, highlighting that the government has strategically designated the transformation of coastal provinces as one of the core pillars of the national development agenda.

This initiative underscores Iran’s commitment to leveraging its extensive coastal resources to promote economic diversification, tourism, trade, and sustainable regional growth.
