213,000 Tons of Cargo Moved through Milak Border as Exports Rise 67%

Exports from the Milak border in southeastern Iran increased by 67 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, according to Shahram Mobaraki, Director General for the Sistan and Baluchestan Road Maintenance and Transportation Department.

According to Mr. Mobaraki, 213,050 metric tons of goods were moved through the border from the beginning of the current Iranian year through the end of Mordad, carried by 8,260 trucks.

Hydrocarbons, cement, and dairy products were among the most important export commodities shipped from the Milak border during this period, he noted.

The official added that an average of around 300 cargo vehicles pass through the terminal daily, handling freight operations and commercial exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan.

Mr. Mobaraki also stressed that the Milak border, as one of the most important borders in eastern Iran, plays a significant role in expanding trade exchanges and exports to Afghanistan and regional markets.
