Transit through Mirjaveh Border Surges 136 Percent
According to Shahram Mobaraki, in the first five months of this year, 333,030 tons of transit goods were moved through the Mirjaveh border in Sistan and Baluchestan province, which represents a 136 percent increase compared to last year.
Transit goods moved through the Mirjaveh border in Sistan and Baluchestan province totaled 333,306 tonnes in the first five months of the current Iranian year, marking a 136 percent increase compared with the same period last year, according to Shahram Mobaraki, Director General of provincial RMTO.
Mr. Mobaraki said the cargo was transported by 13,636 trucks. Iron, sulfur and gas accounted for the main transit commodities passing through the border and around 250 trucks were recorded at Mirjaveh per day.
The border holds particular strategic importance for the development of transit and international transport due to its location on Iran’s corridor connecting Irna to Pakistan and regional markets, he added.
