Over 2.6 Million Tons of Cargo Transited through Northern Borders of Sistan and Baluchestan
Over 2.616 million tons of cargo were transported through the northern borders of Sistan and Baluchestan Province during the first ten months of the current year, according to the Director General of the Provincial Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.
Shahram Mobaraki stated that a total of 2,616,291 tons of cargo were moved by 106,676 trucks through these borders over the reporting period. He noted that this volume comprised 1,145,766 tons of exports, 279,346 tons of imports, and 1,191,179 tons of transit cargo.
He further identified cement, dairy products, tires, and iron as the primary commodities transported during this period, adding that an average of approximately 600 trucks per day pass through the northern borders of the province.
Mobaraki stressed that the RMTO's key priorities include the development of infrastructure, facilitation of cargo transport operations, enhancement of road safety and upgrading border services at the northern border crossings of the province.
