Over 32,000 passengers cross Khosravi Border in One Month, Anticipating Surge for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage

More than 32,000 individuals traversed the Khosravi border between June 25th and July 25th according to Director General of Kermanshah Provincial Road Maintenance and Transportation Department. The border, a key transit point for pilgrims, has recorded significant activity during the Islamic month of Muharram.

A total of 32,729 passengers crossing the Khosravi border during this period, with 17,085 individuals entering Iran and 15,644 exiting the country. Of those who crossed, 8,626 were Iranian citizens and 7,020 were Iraqis. Among the inbound pilgrims, 8,624 were Iranians, while 8,461 were Iraqis.

Authorities project that during this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage, over two million pilgrims will pass through the Khosravi border, underscoring its vital role in facilitating religious travel between Iran and Iraq.
