Over 4.5 Million Tons of Cargo Transshipped via Khuzestan Borders
The Transport Deputy at the Khuzestan Provincial Road Maintenance and Transportation Directorate announced that 4,644,843 tons of cargo were transshipped through the Chazabeh and Shalamcheh borders during the first nine months of the current year.
According to Ghaziali, transshipment measures at the Chazabeh border reached 1,734,942 tons, marking a 19 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, cargo transshipment at the Shalamcheh border amounted to 2,909,901 tons, reflecting a 4 percent growth year-on-year.
He further noted that the total number of trucks movement through these two borders exceeded 170,000 vehicles over the reported period, underscoring the growing scale of cross-border trade and the resumed development of transport and logistics activities in Khuzestan Province.
