The Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation for Sistan Baluchestan Province announced that 1,960,273 tons of goods were transported through the Mirjaveh and Milk borders in the northern part of the province during the first eight months of the current year.
Shahram Mobaraki stated that the Mirjaveh border accounted for the largest share of cross border trade, handling 1,186,945 tons of goods, while 773,328 tons were transported through the Milak border over the same period.
He noted that the primary goods moved through these borders included petroleum products, cement, spare parts, dairy products and tires.
Highlighting the strategic role of these borders in fostering regional and trans-regional trade, Mobaraki added that the average daily movement of 540 trucks through the two borders reflects the vitality of the transportation flow, rising commercial demand and the growing economic importance of these border gateways to the province.
