Inauguration of Non-Stop Cargo Transport between Iran and Pakistan via Rimdan-Gabd Border

For the first time, non-stop (direct) cargo transport between Iran and Pakistan has commenced through the Rimdan Border, marking a new chapter in trade and transport cooperation between the two nations. The inaugural shipment of imported goods from Karachi Port, Pakistan, was successfully transported to Konarak Port, Iran, signaling a significant milestone in bilateral economic relations.

Director General for the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization of Southern Sistan and Baluchestan Province stated that this new initiative has created the necessary status to expand border trade and increase economic exchanges between Iran and Pakistan more than ever before, adding that the implementation of this project will accelerate and simplify international transport, while optimizing the strategic potential of the Rimdan Border as one of the most important gateways connecting Iran and Pakistan.
 
Shahram Mobaraki further stressed that the organization has laid the groundwork for this initiative by developing the transport network, establishing and improving transit corridors, and providing essential infrastructure at the Rimdan BCP, noting that the realization of this project is a significant step towards strengthening economic cooperation, facilitating transit, and boosting regional trade. Furthermore, it is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the operational capacity of the Rimdan Border Terminal and contributing to the economic prosperity of Southern Sistan and Baluchestan.
