Three Major Port Projects Activated at Shahid Rajaee Port
The Director General of the Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Directorate announced the activation and commencement of executive operations for three major port projects at Shahid Rajaee Port.
The Director General of the Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Directorate announced the activation and commencement of executive operations for three major port projects at Shahid Rajaee Port, stating that with the conclusion of contract addenda, effective steps have been taken to remove the obstacles facing development projects.
Hamidreza Mohammadhosseini Takhti, explaining the details of the infrastructure and investment projects at Shahid Rajaee Port, stated: "With the aim of enhancing the operational and infrastructure capacities of Shahid Rajaee Port and the participation and investment of the private sector, in addition to creating employment, effective steps have been taken to remove the obstacles facing development projects, which has led to the determination of new executive frameworks for three important major port projects."
Mechanized Minerals Terminal and Western Rail Development
He then elaborated on the details of these projects, and regarding the commencement of executive operations for the project of establishing a mechanized minerals terminal and the rail development of the west of Shahid Rajaee Port, said: "With the conclusion of the contract addendum, the path has been paved for the commencement of executive operations for the construction of the mechanized minerals terminal as well as the development of the western rail network of the port on lands spanning approximately 71 hectares, which will play a significant role in increasing the export capability of minerals."
Development of Entry and Exit Parking Areas
Stating that in the second measure, the development project of one of the companies based at Shahid Rajaee Port has also been activated after expert reviews, the Director General of the Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Directorate clarified: "With the conclusion of the contract addendum, executive operations for the development of entry and exit parking areas at the eastern and western gates of this port have begun on lands spanning approximately 18.5 hectares, which can play an effective role in reducing truck traffic and streamlining movement at the port's entry and exit points."
Mohammadhosseini counted the revival of the major contract of one of the oil companies as another achievement of the infrastructure projects at Shahid Rajaee Port, adding: "With the conclusion of the contract addendum and the allocation of lands spanning 9 hectares for the implementation of this project, the groundwork has been provided for the construction of an oil terminal on these lands, and its executive operations have been placed on the agenda."
He noted: "The implementation of these three projects, through the injection of capital and the activation of the private sector, in addition to creating employment, constitutes an important step toward increasing the productivity and loading and unloading capacities of Shahid Rajaee Port as Iran's largest commercial port."
