Following the signing of an investment agreement to establish the Republic of Kazakhstan's logistics center in the hinterland of Shahid Rajaee Port, the Director General of Kazakhstan's Trade Development Fund, accompanied by a trade delegation, visited the capacities and infrastructure of Iran's largest commercial and container port.

PMO News portal - as part of the implementation process of the investment agreement, Director General of Kazakhstan's Trade Development Fund, along with a delegation of Kazakh economic activists and investors, visited Shahid Rajaee Port on Tuesday, June 30, to closely examine the capacities, facilities, and infrastructure of this strategic port.

The Director General announced his country's private sector readiness to participate in port investment projects and develop joint maritime cooperation at Shahid Rajaee Port, emphasizing the deepening of economic relations, facilitation of port processes, and creation of suitable platforms for traders and investors from both countries.

Esmaeil Makizadeh, Deputy for Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime, stated that the delegation's visit aims to strengthen trade exchanges and develop economic cooperation in maritime logistics. "The visit to container terminals, bulk cargo handling sections, and rail transit infrastructure at Shahid Rajaee Port will pave the way for further development of the International North-South Transport Corridor and expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan following the agreement signing," he said.

Referring to the importance of the Kazakhstan logistics center agreement in Shahid Rajaee Port's hinterland, he added: "Implementation of this joint project will play an effective role in developing activities related to container and bulk cargo, supplying port and maritime equipment and infrastructure, and forming an integrated logistics chain between Kazakhstan's commercial centers and Shahid Rajaee Port."

Rouhollah Shaolia, Deputy for Port and Economic Affairs of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime, emphasized the need to form a joint technical committee to accelerate the implementation of the agreement's provisions, describing the establishment of Kazakhstan's logistics center at Shahid Rajaee Port as one of the most important joint projects between the two countries in transport, logistics, and trade.

He also noted that the presence of high-ranking Kazakh economic delegations at Shahid Rajaee Port demonstrates both countries' serious determination to develop trade exchanges, increase investment, and maximize utilization of this important transit route.

The investment agreement for establishing the Republic of Kazakhstan's logistics center in Shahid Rajaee Port's hinterland was signed on Sunday, June 28, in the presence of Mohammad Shakibi Nasab, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, and Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Tehran. The agreement is regarded as one of the most significant steps in developing strategic Iran-Kazakhstan cooperation along the International North-South Transport Corridor.
