Ukrainian sea ports increased grain handling by almost ۱۰%
TIN news: According to the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”, during January-May 2016 grain handling in the country’s ports increased by 9.9% compared to the same period last year and reached 14.427 MMT in comparison with 13.124 MMT.
During this period grain handling increased almost in all ports of Ukraine, including Berdyansk (+23.5%), Chernomorsk (former Ilyichevsk, +31.7%), Mariupol (by more than 100%), Nikolayev (+15.8% ), Odessa (+15.1%), Ust-Dunaisk (+22.6%), Kherson (+56.2%).
As a reminder, since the beginning of 2016 two new grain handling terminals in Ukrainian sea ports were put into operation – in Nikolayev and Illichevsk ports. As a result, UkrAgroConsult estimates that grain handling capacities in ports increased by 3.2 MMT and reached almost 50.0 MMT.
