Senior transport officials from Iran and Pakistan convened for a high-level joint meeting to evaluate the capacity of Pakistan’s to accommodate Iranian commercial fleets.

Discussions focused on the border's existing capacity, entry and processing procedures for Iranian vehicles at Iran’s Rimdan border crossing and Pakistan’s border and practical measures to streamline and develop bilateral export and import transport operations.

The Iranian delegation included H.E. Mehran Ghorbani, Deputy Minister for Transport at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, and H. E. Reza Akbari, Deputy Minister and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transport Organization. Also present were the Deputy for Technical and Rural Roads, the Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department, the Director General of Road Maintenance and Transport for southern Sistan and Baluchestan Province, and officials from Pakistan’s border, accoedingly.
