Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, Vice President and Chairman of the Plan and Budget Organization, conducted an inspection of the Bazargan border crossing, during which he reviewed the latest status of executive operations for the completion of second phase of the Bazargan Border Terminal Comprehensive Plan.
The inspection covered various sections of the terminal and customs, traffic routes, and service infrastructure, with infrastructure requirements outlined in light of Bazargan’s strategic significance to national trade and transit.
The visit also addressed the progress of development projects and existing barriers, stressing the necessity of securing and allocating required funds to complete and accelerate infrastructure projects at the Bazargan Customs and border crissing. The objective is to expedite the completion of unfinished projects at this strategic crossing and bring them into operation.
Enhancing service quality, removing traffic bottlenecks, improving transportation infrastructure and facilitating the movement of passengers, transport fleets and economic operators were among the other key priorities stressed during the inspection. These measures are expected to further consolidate Bazargan’s role in expanding foreign trade, promoting international transit, and strengthening Iran’s economic ties with regional countries and Europe.
Securing funding and completing infrastructure at the Bazargan border—one of Iran's most vital trade and transit gateways—constitutes direct investment in trade growth, transit capacity development and the reinforcement of Iran’s position in regional and international transport corridors.
