High-Level Bilateral Meeting on International Road Transport Convened between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
In the course of these esteemed deliberations, the Iranian and Afghanistan delegations conducted a comprehensive review of the current state of bilateral road transport relations and engaged in profound discussions regarding the application of international registration plates for the Afghan road transport fleet, a prerequisite for their entry into the sovereign territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the course of these esteemed deliberations, the Iranian and Afghanistan delegations conducted a comprehensive review of the current state of bilateral road transport relations and engaged in profound discussions regarding the application of international registration plates for the Afghan road transport fleet, a prerequisite for their entry into the sovereign territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mr. Hosseini, the Acting Director General for the Department of Transit and International Transport at the Road Maintenance and Transport Organization, invoking the statutory obligations of the Joint Commission for International Cooperation and due accords reached during the 9th Session of the Committee on International Road Transport, urged the expeditious implementation of the understandings achieved during the present session.
He further underscored the Islamic Republic of Iran's longstanding and distinguished membership in the pertinent international conventions governing international road transport. In a gesture of profound solidarity, he conveyed Iran’s full readiness to facilitate Afghanistan’s accession to said conventions, as well as to transfer requisite expertise and provide essential capacity-building training to the Afghan counterparts—an offer that was received with marked appreciation and approval by the Afghan delegation.
The distinguished Director General of International Transport at the Ministry of Transport of Afghanistan, along with senior representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the eteemed Consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kandahar, and a representative of the Tourism and Automobile Club, participated in this high-level meeting via virtual conference.
