Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Visits Parvizkhan Border

H.E. Reza Akbari, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, accompanied by Kermanshah Governor Habibi and Hosseini, Senior Members of Parliament representing Qasr-e Shirin, Sarpol-e Zahab, and Gilan-e Gharb, conducted an official visit of infrastructure status, export procedures and ongoing development projects at the Parvizkhan Border.

During the visit, key initiatives—including the widening of the zero point border bridge, reorganization of parking areas and designated rest zones and serivce facilities for drivers—were reviewed in detail. Officials also received comprehensive briefings on the latest progress of construction operations, equipment requirements, and both short and long term development plans. Various sections of the terminal were evaluated through on site field inspections, as the primary gateway for Iranian exports to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Parvizkhan Border plays a crucial role in bilateral trade, with a high measure of trucks transporting diverse goods across the border each day. The border’s strategic significance and substantial export throughput underscore the pressing need for infrastructure upgrades and improved traffic management.

The delegation also included Foroud Asgari, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration; Hedayati, Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department; Salimi, Acting Director General of Kermanshah Road Maintenance and Transportation Administration; and Moradi, Senior Advisor to the RMTO Chairman on Charitable Affairs and Deprived Regions.
