859 High-Risk Road Sections Upgraded and Repaired by the Present Iranian Administration
The Deputy of Road Maintenance at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization announced that since the beginning of the present administration (August 2024), a total of 859 black-spots sections of intercity roads across the country have been upgraded and repaired.

According to Mehran Ghorbani out of this total, 274 sections were identified and approved as black-spots by the National Road Safety Commission, while 585 hazardous or semi-completed sections were addressed. The entire effort required an investment exceeding 100 trillion IRRs.
Dr. Ghorbani further noted that, so far, a total of 756 black-spot sections approved by the National Road Safety Commission have been improved. Efforts are currently underway to address the remaining 131 identified sections. The projects are progressing well, and securing the necessary funding will play a critical role in completing these operations by the end of September this year.
He stressed that the remaining sections primarily require extensive projects, such as road widening, constructing grade-separated intersections (overpasses or underpasses), removing heavy cut slopes in curved areas, and improving sightline radii. These projects demand additional funding to ensure timely completion.
