Dr. Mehran Ghorbani Appointed as the Minster Acting Deputy for Transport
In a significant appointment, Mehran Ghorbani, a distinguished authority in plenty scopes of transport with extensive scientific and practical expertise, has assumed the position of Deputy Director of Transport at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. This decision was made under the directive of H.E. Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development.

His Excellency most recent role was as Board Member and Chairman Deputy for Road Maintenance at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization. His illustrious career spans several prominent positions, including three terms on the RMTO Board, former Chairman Deputy for Transport, Chairman Deputy for Highways, Director General of Road Safety and Right-of-Ways, Director General for the Safety and Technology Studies Department and Director General for the Department of Transport Technical Research. Dr. Ghorbani also served as the Research Director of the Research and Training Center of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Dr. Ghorbani, a PhD holder in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transport Engineering, has made notable contributions to both domestic and overseas transport initiatives. Substantially, he was the first representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the World Road Forum (PIARAC). Over the years, he has also chaired numerous prestigious committees, including the Road Safety Engineering Committee, the Transport Safety Committee of the Supreme Council for Technical and Infrastructure Affairs and the International Committee for the Development of the ISO 9001 Traffic and Safety Management Standard. Additionally, he has been a key member of the Combined Transport Committee of the World Road Forum.
Dr. Ghorbani's leadership extends to overseeing the technical secretariats of the National Road Safety Commission and the Supreme Council for Technical and Infrastructure Affairs of Transport. Beyond administrative and policy contributions, His Excellency has authored a wealth of scholarly works, including books, reports and articles on transport and road safety, earning him recognition as a thought leader in the field. He has also been an active educator, conducting training programs and delivering lectures at leading academic and scientific institutions across the country.
Renowned for his expertise in transport safety and infrastructure development, Dr. Ghorbani's appointment is widely regarded as a pivotal step in advancing the Ministry's mission to enhance the nation's transport systems and road safety standards.
