Cabinet Approves Transfer of 10 Hectares of Coastal Land for Development of Sajafi Port in Hendijan

With the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers and the continuous follow-ups of the Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Directorate, the right to exploit approximately 10 hectares of coastal land at Sajafi Port in Hendijan has been transferred to the Ports and Maritime Organization for the implementation of this commercial port's development plan.

Hassan Kordani, Head of the Legal Affairs and Contracts Department of the Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Directorate, announced this news, stating: "This decision came to fruition after years of legal and specialized follow-ups, and with the notification of the approval of the government's Legal and Judicial Commission (under Article 138 of the Constitution) by the First Vice President, the process of issuing the ownership document in the name of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the operation of the Ports and Maritime Organization, has reached its final stages."

Referring to the background and importance of this plan in Khuzestan's commercial structure, Kordani stated: "Hendijan Port, as one of the oldest ports in Khuzestan Province, located 55 kilometers from Deylam County and adjacent to the Persian Gulf, plays a key role in regional trade exchanges. Since 2003, concurrent with the commencement of initial infrastructural measures such as the construction of the wharf, numerous technical, legal, and expert follow-ups were placed on the agenda to consolidate ownership of these lands. After 23 years of continuous effort, this fundamental demand has come to fruition, and the process of transferring the exploitation right of approximately 10 hectares of Sajafi Port lands has been successfully achieved, providing the necessary foundation for the region's economic leap."

He added: "Finally, with the special and continuous follow-ups of the Director General of the Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Directorate and the support of senior managers of the Ports and Maritime Organization, the Cabinet's approval was issued and finalized through official notification. Based on this resolution, the exploitation right of approximately 10 hectares of the relevant registered plot in the Hendijan registration district was officially transferred to the Ports and Maritime Organization."

In conclusion, the Head of the Legal Affairs and Contracts Department of the Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Directorate noted: "With the notification of this resolution, the necessary measures have begun to reflect the matter to the Khuzestan Province Registration of Deeds and Properties Directorate to obtain the single-sheet deed and consolidate the government's definitive ownership, so that, relying on this legal backing, the path for attracting private sector investment, developing modern port infrastructure, increasing export capacity, and promoting sustainable job creation in Hendijan County is further paved."
