Sirik Port Reports 403% Surge in Cargo Handling within five months

The performance of Sirik Port across various operational, container, and vessel traffic sectors has increased in the first five months of the current year compared to the same period last year, with the handling of oil and non-oil goods reaching 192,080 tonnes during this period.

Alireza Kouhi, Head of Sirik Port and Maritime Directorate, referring to the performance of Sirik Port from the beginning of Farvardin to the end of Mordad 1405 (March 21 – August 22, 2026), stated that during this period, the total loading and unloading of oil and non-oil goods at Sirik Port reached 192,080 tonnes, marking a 403% increase compared to the same period last year.

He added that of the total operations conducted, 190,303 tonnes were related to non-oil goods and 1,777 tonnes to oil goods. In the non-oil sector, 64,343 tonnes were unloaded and 125,960 tonnes were loaded.

The Head of Sirik Port and Maritime Directorate continued that in the non-oil goods sector, 116,225 tonnes were exported, 38,990 tonnes were in transit, 9,000 tonnes were cabotage, 23,749 tonnes were other operations, and 2,339 tonnes were imports.

Referring to the performance of Sirik Port in the oil goods sector, Kouhi said that during the first five months of the current year, the total loading and unloading of oil goods reached 1,777 tonnes, including 684 tonnes unloaded and 1,093 tonnes loaded.

He also reported significant growth in container activities at Sirik Port, stating that during this period, 10,897 TEUs of containers were loaded and unloaded at this port, showing a considerable increase compared to the same period last year.

The Head of Sirik Port and Maritime Directorate, noting the increase in vessel traffic at this port, highlighted that during the first five months of 1405, a total of 532 incoming vessels were registered at Sirik Port, representing a 150% increase compared to the same period last year.

Kouhi further referred to truck traffic statistics at Sirik Port, adding that during this period, 9,632 trucks passed through this port, an increase of 180 vehicles compared to the same period last year.

He emphasized that the increase in loading and unloading operations, the growth of container activities, and the rise in vessel and truck traffic indicate the continuation of commercial and operational activities at Sirik Port and this port's role in supporting the movement of goods in the region.
