Iran Customs and PMO Sign MoU for 24/7 Joint Services at Key Ports

At the conclusion of a meeting between the Head of Iran Customs and the Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two organizations — an agreement that pursues the provision of round-the-clock joint services at the country's major customs houses as one of its key pillars.
during the joint meeting between Foroud Asgari, Head of Iran Customs, and Mohammad Shakibi-Nasab, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, in addition to signing the MoU, topics such as information exchange between the two organizations and the positioning and installation of X-ray machines were also discussed and agreed upon.
The Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, while appreciating the sincere cooperation of Iran Customs, gave a favorable commitment regarding the positioning of X-ray machines in the shortest possible time. Referring to the flourishing trade in northern ports and the increasing volume of imported goods at these ports, he also called for strengthening the structure and human resources in this region.
Shakibi-Nasab further announced his organization's cooperation with Customs in providing round-the-clock services to traders and service recipients, describing it as an effective step in facilitating trade processes and reducing cargo clearance time.
According to this report, Foroud Asgari, Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of Iran Customs, while expressing satisfaction with the regular and continuous holding of expert meetings between the two organizations, emphasized the importance of facilitating data exchange between Customs and the Ports Organization and announced Iran Customs' serious determination to cooperate with neighboring organizations in facilitating trade.
The Head of Iran Customs also announced the imminent installation of new X-ray machines at some important customs ports of the country and called for the cooperation of the Ports and Maritime Organization for the proper positioning and installation of these machines.
