Hormozgan Ports Chief: Cargo Transport Returns to Pre-War Levels
The Director General of Ports and Maritime of Hormozgan has announced the return of cargo transport conditions to pre- War levels, stating that during the first five days of the conflict, over 59,000 tons of essential goods and industrial raw materials were transported nationwide using Shahid Rajaee Port's logistics capacity and rail transport to meet market demand.
PMO News Portal - Hossein Abbasnejad, in detailing the outflow of essential goods during the first ten days of the imposed War, said that after the war began, the exit of trucks carrying imported and transit goods decreased by an average of 93% over five days.
He continued: "In line with the necessity of sending essential goods and industrial raw materials across the country, Shahid Rajaee Port's logistics capacity and rail transport were utilized to transport 59,570 tons of these goods to markets nationwide to secure people's livelihoods."
He added that five days after March 7 of last year, with the cooperation of other relevant and effective bodies in cargo transport, conditions returned to pre-war levels. Daily truck movements increased from 165 trucks (equivalent to 3,630 tons) to nearly 2,422 trucks (equivalent to 53,284 tons), representing a 14-fold increase.
