Shaista Saidmurodzoda, Deputy Minister of Transport of Tajikistan, met with Saeed Rasouli, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), during a visit to Tehran. She confirmed her country’s strong interest in enhancing economic ties with Iran and emphasized plans to establish a logistics terminal at Chabahar Port.

Saidmurodzoda noted that trade and cargo movement between the two countries have been increasing, and Chabahar could serve as a strategic gateway for Tajikistan’s access to global maritime routes.During recent site visits to the Shahid Beheshti terminal, a Tajik investor delegation reviewed port facilities and discussed potential collaboration in areas including maritime transport, logistics infrastructure, and regional transit.

Iran Supports Foreign Investment in Key Port

Rasouli welcomed Tajikistan’s investment interest and reiterated Iran’s commitment to strengthening regional transport corridors. He highlighted the Iranian government’s strategy to create a regional logistics value chain, citing Chabahar’s strategic geopolitical and geo-economic location. The nature, scope, and duration of Tajikistan’s investment will be determined based on the submitted commercial plan, Rasouli added.

Ports Organization to Provide Full Facilitation

The PMO chief stated that Iran’s legal framework supports both foreign and domestic investments in port infrastructure and logistics development. He pledged that the Ports and Maritime Organization would offer maximum facilitation to ensure the success of the project in accordance with national regulations. Rasouli called on Tajik officials to submit their business proposal as soon as possible to initiate formal procedures.
