EasyJet plans to acquire Slovenia-based Adria Tehnika, which operates five lines of maintenance at its Ljubljana Airport base. The acquisition, the price of which has not been disclosed, adds to the airline’s growing in-house network.

The UK-based LCC signed the deal Dec. 1; it expects to close the acquisition in 2026.

“We have worked with Adria Tehnika for almost a decade and have entrusted them with over 200 major maintenance jobs on our Airbus fleet to date,” says Brendan McConnellogue, easyJet director of engineering and maintenance, in a press release.

Adria first started maintaining easyJet aircraft in 2016 when it reconfigured cabins as part of the airline’s SpaceFlex program. Base maintenance contracts followed.

Adria Tehnika CEO Barbara Perko Brvar will continue to lead the MRO after the close. “With a strategic investor like easyJet, we will be able to develop our business, capabilities and the expertise of our employees even faster and further,” she says.

EasyJet has been expanding its in-house maintenance capacity to increase operational resiliency and efficiencies. It purchased SR Technics’ six-bay Malta facility in 2024. It also uses third-party MRO Lufthansa Technik.

Adria Tehnika started as the maintenance arm of Slovenia carrier Adria Airways and became a separate arm in 2010. Linetech, part of Polish company Avia Prime along with JAT Tehnika, purchased it in 2015 and held it until selling Adria to Hartenberg Holding in 2024.

EasyJet operates 355 Airbus A320 family aircraft, according to Aviation Week Network’s Fleet Discovery database.
