JetBlue Airways will add two more transatlantic routes with new service from Boston to both Barcelona and Milan.

The routes will bring to nine the number of European airports the carrier will serve from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) for the 2026 summer season. JetBlue will also fly to five European destinations from its New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) base in summer 2026.

The airline will kick off seasonal daily service between BOS and Barcelona El-Prat Airport (BCN) from April 16, 2026. From May 11, 2026, JetBlue will open seasonal daily flights between BOS and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP).

All of JetBlue’s transatlantic flights are flown with either Airbus A321LR or A321neo aircraft.

JetBlue will compete with Iberia on the BOS-BCN route. The Spanish carrier will offer 3,564 weekly two-way seats on the route in April 2026 when JetBlue begins flying the route, according to OAG Schedules Analyzer data. Delta Air Lines operated seasonal service on both the BOS-BCN and BOS-MXP routes on its 2025 summer schedule.

Six of JetBlue’s nine transatlantic routes are operated only on its summer schedule. “We've done a nice job seasonalizing” service to Europe, JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said during a Nov. 18 fireside chat with ATW Editor-in-Chief Karen Walker at an International Aviation Club of Washington luncheon. “In the summer, it’s great. We try to be more flexible with the fleet and point it to places that we know customers want to go during the winter with ski destinations and places in the Caribbean.”

JetBlue does fly year-round daily service from BOS to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and London Heathrow (LHR) airports. In addition to BCN and MXP, the carrier will fly daily transatlantic summer seasonal service from BOS to Dublin (DUB), Edinburgh (EDI), London Gatwick and Madrid-Barajas airports.

With BCN and MXP added, JetBlue will connect to 77 total destinations from BOS.

JetBlue flies year-round service from JFK to LHR (daily) and CDG (2X-daily). In 2026, the carrier will also fly summer seasonal service from JFK to AMS, DUB and EDI.

Geraghty said JetBlue would like to serve Lisbon Airport (LIS), which has limited slot availability. “We're banging our head against the wall … trying to get access,” she said.
