AI Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) has established a new maintenance partnership with Turkish leisure carrier Corendon Airlines, marking a significant milestone in its expanding international customer base.

Under the agreement, AI Engineering Services Limited will provide comprehensive maintenance support services to Antalya, Turkey-based Corendon, including scheduled maintenance, component support and technical assistance designed to ensure maximum aircraft availability and operational reliability.

Corendon Airlines operates an extensive network across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and the partnership with AIESL is expected to enhance the airline’s maintenance flexibility and optimize fleet utilization. The airline’s operating fleet comprises 10 Boeing 737-800s, six 737-8s and two Airbus A320-200s, according to Aviation Week’s Fleet Discovery database.

AIESL, which is Air India’s former maintenance arm, has faced repeated delays in privatization due to employee protests and regulatory hurdles, and its future relationship with India’s flag carrier remains uncertain as Air India partners with international MRO providers such as Singapore Airlines Engineering Company. However, AIESL aims to grow its customer portfolio by forming partnerships with domestic and international airlines and by expanding its certifications.

In March, AIESL secured a contract from Kuwait Airways to conduct heavy maintenance checks on seven of the airline’s 777 aircraft. This summer, it also expanded its European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part 145 approval to include base maintenance and limited line maintenance on A320 and 737 aircraft at its Trivandrum facility.
