Yunex tunes up with Hamburg traffic signal deal
Firm will control 2,000 lights across German city using Yutraffic Symphony platform

Yunex Traffic is to control 2,000 traffic lights across the German city of Hamburg, in partnership with Hamburg Verkehrsanlagen - the city's transportation department.
The company's Yutraffic Symphony software is designed to speed traffic flow, including public transport, and prioritise emergency vehicles.
“Hamburg is showing how modern traffic technology can truly support the shift to sustainable mobility," says Nils Schmidt, MD of Yunex Traffic Germany.
"We’re proud to be part of this pioneering project and to set new standards for urban mobility together with such an innovative partner."
A new central control system for signalised intersections replaces 10 legacy traffic computers.
Yunex says the system is designed to meet the highest standards in IT security, C-ITS functionalities, and open interface protocols like OCIT-O V3.0.
"The project lays the groundwork for a future-proof system architecture that complies with critical infrastructure protection standards - ensuring resilience, reliability, and security for essential urban systems," the firm says in a statement.
"With a single platform, all traffic flows can be monitored, analysed and dynamically controlled in real time - from general traffic to bus prioritisation and emergency vehicle routing."
Open interfaces allow integration with external systems such as the Hamburg Police Traffic Control Centre, the State Office for Roads, Bridges and Waters, and the Hamburg Port Authority.
