Vice President and Chairman of the Plan and Budget Organization Seyyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, during an inspection of the Ivughli Junction on the Tehran–Bazargan Corridor, underscored the strategic position of West Azerbaijan Province in Iran’s transit network and stated that the development of northwestern transit routes to be accelerated.

Citing his third visit to the Ivughli Junction this year, Pourmohammadi commended the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization for advancing the junction’s intersection project and praised the governor of West Azerbaijan for pursuing provincial development initiatives at the national level, described this approach as a catalyst for accelerating the province’s infrastructure development.

The vice president also stressed the necessity of interagency coordination to strengthen transit corridors and to develop roads, customs facilities and border areas in line with rising traffic and trade volumes.

Accompanied by the governor of West Azerbaijan and the CEO of the national railway, Pourmohammadi identified the area as one of Iran’s key transit routes and emphasized the need to expedite its completion.
