A coordination meeting on the uninterrupted, direct transport of passengers by bus from departure points in cities across the country to the holy shrines in Iraq was held with the participation of representatives from agencies stationed at border terminals.

During the session, participants reviewed the implementation of the scheme during the Arbaeen pilgrimage at the Khosravi border terminal. They also assessed the needs of relevant agencies and examined the requirements for extending direct passenger transport services throughout the year, with the aim of facilitating traveler movement at other Arbaeen border crossings.

The meeting put forward proposals for improving processes at both provincial and national levels, including infrastructure development and the resolution of border and customs control challenges to enable smart screening of bus fleets and passengers without stationary stops at the border. In order to establish a unified procedure, it was agreed that the proposals would undergo expert review, the responsibilities of each agency would be precisely defined, and a directive would be drafted with the participation of executive bodies and submitted to the Arbaeen Headquarters for official issuance.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Hosseini, Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department, alongside representatives of the Border Guard Command of the Police, the Passport Department, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Customs, deputy transport directors of Tehran and Kermanshah provinces, and Associations of the Passenger Transport.
