According to Mr. Orujali Alizadeh, plans are revealed to install 500 new lighting points in residential areas, intersections and black spot zones. He stressed that cost-effective and rapid interventions to reduce accident rates and severity in high-risk areas will form a crucial part of this year’s agenda.

Key Safety Initiatives and Target for 2025
Mr. Alizadeh detailed several safety initiatives, including:
• Enhancing safety on major corridors and roads leading to key pilgrimage sites, such as the Arbaeen and the so called "The passengers of light".
• Installing 800 kilometers of articulated concrete barriers on arterial routes.
• Preparing and placing 70,000 square meters of informational boards and 380,000 warning and regulatory signs.
In addition, efforts are underway to address black-spot areas. By the end of the year's first half, corrective measures will be completed for 131 remaining points out of the 887 identified by the National Road Safety Commission. Following this, a new phase of planning will begin to identify additional black-spot areas, with the Road Safety Commission Secretariat serving as the focal point.

Focus on Major Road Projects
The Deputy Director also highlighted plans to organize and enhance the safety of key transport routes, including extensive tasks on the 90-kilometer Qom-Tehran freeway. These endeavors will involve corrective measures and the reorganization of signage, guards and other road infrastructure along the route.
Further, significant projects are being implemented to improve safety in high-risk areas. These include the installation of prefabricated galleries and rock fall barriers along the Karaj-Chaloos road in the Kandovan region of Alborz and Mazandaran provinces. These upgrades aim to mitigate risks associated with rock falls and ensure the safety of this heavily trafficked route.
Mr. Alizadeh reaffirmed the RMTO's commitment to addressing black-spot areas and improving the overall safety of the country's road network, stressing that such measures are part of an ongoing effort to enhance road safety nationwide.
