Alstom has released its very-first impact report on its Swedish operations, highlighting a strong contribution to both the country’s economy and its sustainable transportation situation.

Supporting over 3,000 jobs in total; Alstom has become one of the country’s leading actors in the rail technology sector with more than 2,000 employees, contributing more than 1.4 billion SEK to the country’s overall GDP.

The company’s advanced testing and development facilities in Västerås are aiming to drive innovation in energy-efficient rail transport, as well as strengthen local businesses and support local jobs.

Alstom has begun investing in a number of energy efficiency technologies that look to support a more resource-preserving railway across the Nordic region.

Maria Signal-Martebo, CEO of Alstom in Sweden, said:

I am incredibly proud of our employees and the impact we are making in Sweden.

We are not only delivering sustainable mobility solutions but also strengthening local ecosystems and driving innovation together with universities, startups, and industry partners.
