Ocean Network Express’s first pink magenta containership has begun its maiden voyage starting from Asia to North America.

One Ocean Network Express, or ONE as it is known for short, was established in 2017 through the integration of the container businesses of major Japanese shipping companies “K” Line, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and NYK.

The vessel, named One Commitment, is ONE’s first company-branded containership with a carrying capacity of 8,560 TEU. The vessel was delivered in 2013 and previously was part of MOL’s fleet.

The vessel is operated on THE Alliance’s Asia to North America PN2 service. She started her debut voyage from Singapore on 15 May 2018, later calling at Laem Chabang, Cai Mep and Kaohsiung before arriving at Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) facility in Port of Yantian, China. Afterwards, she will continue her journey to Tacoma and Vancouver before returning to Asia to call at Ports of Tokyo, Kobe, Kaohsiung and Singapore.

ONE began operations on April 1, 2018 with a fleet of about 240 vessels and a combined capacity of 1,440,000 TEU, ranking it as the 6th largest container shipping company with approximately 7% of global share.

ONE also has seven 14,000 teu newbuild containerships planned for delivery this year.
