TIN news:  The Maritime & Corporate Administrators of the Republic of Marshall Islands issued the success factors that make Marshall Islands an always improving flag at the their press conference in the framework of Posidonia trade fair 2016 last week.
Fifteen years ago, Marshall Islands were not even in the top 10 foreign flags in Greece.This year RMI has been recognized by the publication Shipping & Finance as the number one foreign flag in Greece. Additionally, the  Annual  Report on Port State Controll in the United States has stated that the RMI will continue on Qualship 21 for the 2016,making this the 12th consecutive year the RMI will hold this recognition.
Theodor Xenakoudis, Director, Worldwide Business Operations of International Registries, Inc, stated that,
“We are gratified by the news from the USCG and from Shipping & Finance.As our major competitors are losing Qualship 21, we are proud to confirm our owners and operators  that RMI ships can still qualify for Qualship 21 status”
IRI(International Registries, Inc) believes that the success of the RMI Registry is due to its qualified personnel with experience at sea and ashore who focus on quality, service and continual improvement.
“The key is not only the unprecedented growth of the Registry but also the unprecedented track record on quality” said Bill Gallagher, President of IRI.
“We get a lot of feedback from Greek community”he added
The RMI Registry’s success in enhancing its fleet and reputation in the international maritime community is largely attributed to its Greek clients. Therefore, RMI maintains and supports the Greek community.
“The most competitive thing that Greek owners and operators appreciate is the quality of our flag. We have a fourty people office. Among them there are inspectors and technical people who provide help anytime” said Theodor Xenakoudis.”People can find always somebody to help them”
As far as the inspection part is concerned, Richard Dias, Regional Technical Manager, International Registries said that
“In order to accept a vessel we look at vessel’s history and port state’s data inspection history as well. Bulk carriers need two inspections as they are more difficult to accept”
The RMI continues to be the fastest growing of the top ten registries and is nearing the position at the second largest Flag State in the world. However,
“It is difficult to maintain the levels” said said Bill Gallagher. “Regulations impact not only the owners but also registry”
All things considered, the Regitry’s focus will remain on providing clients with excellent service anywhere in the world and maintaining its reputation as a quality fleet.
