IRU drives innovation in logistics as part of ALICE

TINNews |

IRU joined the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ALICE), which aims to develop a strategy for research and innovation to make the EU logistics sector more efficient, competitive and sustainable.

The outputs of the Alliance will guide and support the European Commission in defining and implementing projects under Horizon 2020, the EU’s framework programme for research and innovation.

ALICE was officially recognised as a European Technology Platform (ETP) by the European Commission in July 2013. ETPs are industry led platforms seen by the Commission as key actors in advancing innovation and sharing knowledge for a more competitive Europe. Together with the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC), IRU is now a member of the two leading ETPs in the area of transport.
