In a high-level bilateral engagement, the Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Uzbek Minister of Transport held comprehensive discussions to evaluate current dynamics in the road and rail sectors. During the summit, both dignitaries underscored the imperative of steadfastly pursuing mutual agreements and broadening strategic cooperation across diverse transport and transit domains.

H.E. Farzaneh Sadegh, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, met with H.E. Ilhom Makhkamov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Transport, on the margins of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Transport Ministers' Meeting in Kazakhstan. Highlighting the substantial growth in bilateral cross-border fleet traffic, Minister Sadegh stressed the necessity of fortifying road, rail, and transit synergies while diligently operationalizing joint agreements.

Her Excellency noted that collaborative efforts between Iran and Uzbekistan have witnessed a remarkable and sustained expansion in recent years, particularly within the critical realms of rail and road logistics.

Concurrently, Minister Makhkamov reaffirmed the paramount importance of cultivating comprehensive, multifaceted transport ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He officially conveyed Tashkent's robust readiness to scale up bilateral engagements and joint logistical ventures to unprecedented levels.

Furthermore, a strategic proposal for an official Uzbek delegation to visit Iran’s southern port infrastructure was mutually endorsed. This prospective technical visit aims to familiarize the Uzbek counterparts with Iran’s extensive maritime capacities and to thoroughly evaluate the nation's immense transit capabilities, further cementing the framework of their bilateral economic engagements.
