Chairman of Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization Announces: Comprehensive Plan for Nordouz Border to Begin Soon
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has announced the imminent launch of the comprehensive plan for the Nordouz border, aimed at boosting trade and transit exchanges with neighboring countries.

According to Dr. Reza Akbari, the remarks made during a visit to the Nordouz border in East Azerbaijan Province.
"With the allocation of approximately 9000 billion IRRs in funding and following the contractor selection and the project consultant, execution of the comprehensive plan for this border crossing will commence as early as the contract is issued, within the shortest possible timeframe," Dr. Akbari added.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Nordouz border crossing for the development of commercial and transit ties, he stated that infrastructure development, increased capacity and facilitation of cargo and passenger fleet movement are among the key objectives of the comprehensive border plan.
Dr. Akbari further stated that the implementation of this project will enhance services and improve customs and border procedures, providing a suitable platform for a significant boost in transit and trade capacities.
The deputy minister added that the comprehensive plan for the Nordouz border will also promote and further expand Iran's economic cooperation with its neighbors, particularly Armenia.
