10% Rise in Heavy Freight Traffic Through Norduz Border in Eight Months
The Director‑General of Roads Maintenance and Transportation for East Azerbaijan Province announced a significant increase in freight activity at the Norduz border . According to the latest data, 113,171 heavy freight vehicles crossed the bordee during the first eight months of the current year, marking a 10% increase compared with the same period last year.
Gholamreza Rasoulzadeh stated that the total volume of imports, exports, and inbound and outbound transit through the terminal exceeded 1,352,000 tons, reflecting a 9% year‑on‑year increase.
He added that passenger traffic also recorded notable growth. A total of 441,000 Iranian and foreign passengers crossed the Norduz border during the same period, representing an 18% rise compared with last year.
