Belarus Ambassador Meets Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development to Expand Transport and Trade Cooperation
The Honorable Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Iran met with H.E. the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and international transport.
During the meeting, Dr. Reza Akbari, Deputy Minister and Chairman of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, described Belarus as a key economic partner within the Eurasian region. He underscored the importance of expanding bilateral trade and international transport cooperation through formal agreements and stressed greater utilization of Iran’s transit corridors to facilitate regional connectivity.
For his part, Dmitry Koltsov, Ambassador of Belarus to Iran, expressed strong interest in enhancing the level of commercial and trade exchanges between the two countries. He called for the resolution of challenges related to the cross-border drivers' movement, the facilitation of permit issuance procedures, and the reduction of tariffs, proposing the organization of technical meetings and sustained dialogue between the transport authorities of both nations.
The meeting was also attended by Hedayati, Director General for the Department of Transit and International Transport, along with his deputy and relevant colleagues.
