Heavy Vehicle Traffic from Nordoz Border Grows by 9%
The Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation of East Azerbaijan Province has announced a notable 9% increase in heavy vehicle traffic from the Norduz border, located on the Iran-Armenia border. According to Gholamreza Rasoulzadeh, *67,170 heavy vehicles* passed through the border during the first five months of this year, compared to the same period last year.

As reported by the East Azerbaijan Provincial RMTO, the total tonnage of imports, exports and transit—both inbound and outbound—via the Nordoz border exceeded *808,000 tons*, marking an 11% growth year-on-year.
Additionally, Mr. Rasoulzadeh highlighted a significant rise in passenger traffic, with *290,000 Iranian and foreign travelers* utilizing the border terminal during this period, reflecting a *25% increase* compared to the same timeframe last year.
These figures underscore the growing importance of the Norduz border as a critical hub for trade and transit in the region, further boosting Iran's connectivity with its northern neighbors.
