Milk Border Reports 54% Surge in Economic Exchanges in First Five Months
Sistan and Baluchestan Province has witnessed a remarkable 54% growth in the measure of goods moved through the Milk border during the first five months of this year, according to the Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation for the province.

Of this total, 379,816 tons were designated for transit, while 127,340 tons were exported, Mr. Kurd revealed. Highlighting the border's strategic importance in fostering trade with neighboring countries, Ayub Kurd noted that the primary goods exchanged included cement, hydrocarbons and oil products. He attributed the growth to the border’s capacity to facilitate cross-border trade and its critical role in the region’s economic development. "The Milk border, positioned as one of the most vital border crossings in eastern Iran, serves as a key hub for transit, exports, and regional economic interactions," Kurd said, stressing that the border’s operations not only bolster trade but also contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
