Solar Power Plant Operation Marks Key Step Towards Clean Energy Self-Sufficiency at the Center for the Development of Training, Studies and Artificial Intelligence
In a landmark initiative to advance self-sufficiency in clean energy production and support the national transition to renewable energy sources, the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has inaugurated a state-of-the-art solar power plant at the Center for the Development of Training, Studies and Artificial Intelligence.

According to Dr. Hamzeh Zakeri, the Head of the Center, a 55-kilowatt solar power plant, successful commissioned, aiming to reduce energy consumption, promote the adoption of renewable resources, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance energy efficiency. This initiative aligns with national goals for sustainable development and green energy production.
Key Features of the Solar Power Plant
The newly operational solar power plant, currently in its first phase, boasts an average daily production capacity exceeding 300 kilowatt-hours, covering a substantial portion of the center's daily electricity consumption. Specifically, it provides 330 amperes of power, with 34% of the energy produced dedicated to green energy consumption, significantly reducing reliance on the urban electricity grid.
Dr. Zakeri also described this achievement as a practical step toward smart energy production and sustainable consumption, stressing the center’s commitment to energy independence. "This solar power plant marks a pivotal moment in our efforts to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and embrace innovative, renewable solutions," he stated.
Next Phase of Development
As part of the second phase development plan, the center is in the final stages of equipping an additional solar power facility with a capacity of 85 kilowatts per hour, which is expected to become operational in the near future. The expanded solar farm will further enhance the center’s capacity to generate clean energy, contributing even more to Iran’s renewable energy goals.
Alignment with National Development Goals
The operation of these solar facilities is a critical component of the center’s comprehensive energy strategy, which supports the objectives outlined in the 7th National Development Plan, underscoring the importance of:
• Increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the national energy mix,
• Reducing energy intensity, and
• Fostering sustainable consumption patterns.
Dr. Zakeri also added, “The successful operation of this power plant complex is not only a step forward in achieving clean energy self-sufficiency but also a significant contribution to national efforts to reduce energy intensity. It reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability and the responsible use of energy resources.”
A Broader Vision for Renewable Energy
This initiative further demonstrates the RMTO’s dedication to integrating renewable energy solutions into its operations. By prioritizing the adoption of solar power, the organization sets a benchmark for other institutions and underscores the critical role of clean energy in achieving long-term sustainability and energy security.
As the Center for the Development of Training, Studies and Artificial Intelligence continues to expand its renewable energy infrastructure, it serves as a model for leveraging modern technology to address energy challenges while promoting environmental stewardship. This project is poised to play a vital role in supporting Iran’s clean energy transition, fostering innovation in energy production, and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
